Visual Sound – Immersive Music in the Castle is a cultural heritage enhancement project taking place in Palombara Sabina (Rome, Italy), inside and around Castello Savelli Torlonia. Through digital audiovisual languages, it offers new immersive and participatory ways to experience historical heritage.
The programme features 14 live shows across 7 evenings in May 2026. Each night includes two performances—under-36 artists from the Lazio region and national/international artists—blending live electronic music, audiovisual performance and video mapping. Works are developed as site-specific productions, in dialogue with the castle’s architectural identity and symbolic layers.
The project also includes a 7-day artistic residency for two under-36 Lazio-based acts selected through an open curatorial call, resulting in new works premiered during the opening nights. Each event is preceded by artist talks, designed as accessible moments of cultural mediation and exchange. Visual Sound also promotes inclusion and accessibility, with dedicated measures (subtitles, selective audio description, reserved areas, low-sensory zones) developed with local organisations.
Visual Sound International is our touring and cooperation programme supporting the international circulation of Italian audiovisual works, fostering exchange across Europe, the Mediterranean and North Africa while strengthening professional, curatorial and technical networks in digital arts.
Visual Sound Wednesdays is our weekly curated series at Pasquino – Transmedia Arts Center: every Wednesday a continuous audiovisual selection 6 PM–12 AM and an AV live performance at 9 PM, creating a stable meeting point for artists, community and audiences.
